  • This application is amazing. I've tried other applications to stream local media from my phone to my Chromecast and everything else was so bad and rendered videos unwatchable. This applications plays a 1080p video no problem, definitely worth the $3, I honestly would've paid more. For everyone complaining about having to pay to use the features, pucker up and pay the measly $3 because it's well worth the money.

  • Probably the greatest app from man kind this and show box combined have saved me hundreds I love this app helps me cast anything to the TV. Its worth the money. Just imagine you DL a movie and you don't have anything to play it with on your TV. Well this is where it comes in handy. 5 stars from me ! And they actually fixed it up too

  • I have a RAZR I. I can stream full HD video to my TV (chrome cast) no problem, as well as from Facebook. Pictures also display fine. Video sometimes has a slight jump early on, but all smooth after. Well worth the purchase price.

  • I listen to a lot of DJ sets and mixes so it would be nice to be able to search through a song instead of playing the next or last. I'm a fan of it grabbing the album art though! I've wasted 3 bucks on less before. Worth the cash.

  • I took advantage of the in app purchase in the hope that Avia would let me Chromecast video off my portable Seagate wireless server onto my TV. It worked straight off - no problem at all. It even let me disconnect my phone when I had thought that surely it must be going via the phone. Well worth the money. Go for it.

  • Add HD/vector buttons/icons. Gradient background needs to go! Rounded check boxes should be square. Theme support should be built in not through separate apps. Needs more interface preferences! Themes are too limited!

  • i bought this primarily for its chromecast support. it works as expected, but not everything works perfectly. the biggest annoyances is deleted media in my phone still displayed in avia although refreshed multiple times.

  • The new update has a better casting of Google plus photos, apparently done from the cloud. I appreciate that. This finally makes Avia useful for me. But still there are issues: UI needs a lot of polish, local video casting gets choppy because of high bitrate, etc.

  • It's a bit of a hassle to cast to my television. I have to cast it then disconnect then cast another app (ie YT, Pandora) disconnect and then recast this app just to get it to work. I really hate using this app but after paying $2.99 for the casting feature I just can't bring myself to uninstall.

  • Serious file limitations and sometimes will play the previous video when starting a new one. My biggest frustration is one day it will be able to play video formats like mkv and avi on the Chromecast and the next it won't.

  • I'm trying to stream video through Avia to chromecast, but it gets stuck with the Avia logo on the screen. I then have to go to YouTube and press the chromecast button there, then go back to Avia again. They said they fixed the bug, but it's still there. So the process is... Video> Avia> YouTube> Avia

  • I start playing a video via Avia app and it works great at first and then about 5 to 10 minutes in, it says this media is not supported go to avia support. I go there and it tells me to make sure it's 720p, which mine is, and MP4, which mine is, so why does it play it at first and then stop supporting it?

  • The player seems to work well but the interface to chromecast seems to fail more than it succeeds especially with Avi files Ps. Did not work to chromecast at all with AVI file. Will ask for refund. Very pretty android player

  • The UI is horrible. It's hard to read to titles and there's no thumb nail previews. When trying to find videos from my camera library its impossible to find what you're looking for. That's even if you can get the file to play. Wish I could get a refund.

**Google Chromecast bug: Cast icon missing on 4.0 devices: https://productforums.google.com/forum/m/#!topic/chromecast/lK0J8ExyQB0**

Features:
- Updated user interface with simpler navigation and smoother response
- Improved stability and support for the latest Google Chromecast software
- Subtitle support while casting (Note: This feature requires separate subtitle files)
- Resize subtitles during Chromecast playback
- Full playback control from your phone or tablet
- Music album artwork and artist images displayed on your TV
- Save animated gifs from the web and cast them with Avia
- Support for devices running Android Version 4.0.3/4.0.4

And of course, Avia still allows you to: Share your photos, videos and music on these devices: Chromecast / Xbox 360 / Xbox One / Google TV / PC / Mac

Play and manage media stored on your Android device, in the cloud or from these devices: Facebook / Dropbox / Google+ Photos (Picasa) / Network Attached Storage (NAS) / Windows Media Player (WMP) / XBMC / Serviio / Plex / Subsonic / PC / Mac / Other Android Devices

Finally, here are a few pieces of advice to get the most out of Avia:
- Make sure your Android device and device you want to cast to, e.g. Chromecast, are using the same Wi-Fi network
- Some users only see the Avia logo when casting to Chromecast. Changing the Wi-Fi channel on your router to anything other than its current setting solves this problem
- When using Avia to access media from other devices, they must have UPnP/DLNA serving enabled.
- When casting from Avia, files MUST be compatible with the receiving device. Many devices have fewer compatible codecs than a home computer. Please review your media formats with the specifications of your devices before attempting to cast. (Example: Chromecast is not compatible with .AVI files) Please see the video conversion guide at aviatheapp.com/support
