  • If I want an app to cast media (such as videos like I tried,) you shouldn't have to pay the first time. You should get at least 1 test to see if you are satisfied. Do not download for video streaming unless you want to pay.

  • No Love for MythTV. I purchased the add on to cast to chromecast. Avia will only sucessfully cast lower resoulution files. I cannot cast my MythTV files to the chromecase, however I can use dnla with my samsung tv and samsung dvd player. Out $5.

  • .... but no chromecast in the app unless you pay for an upgrade. Why not just charge for the app? It's like charging for a web browser, who would when a dozen other apps do casting for free? Granted you said it's in app purchase but that unlocks everything, so why put just chromecast in the title unless you trying to lure in people looking for a chromecast app alternative? Bah....

  • Don't buy the upgrade to cast to Roku. It doesn't work. After many attempts (longer than the 24 hour refund period) to get this working and unproductive discussion with the help team, I've still never been able to cast to Roku.

  • Tried streaming from my tablet and it doesn't even give me the option to click cast, just tells me I have already purchased this option. Tried it from my LG G3, I can actually select the device to cast to, but it just sits on the loading screen. I want my money back.

  • Was using a stock Nexus 7 (2013) to chromecast a few shows and it the Avia would disconnect 30 minutes into the shows. Happened 3 times last night. I had to resort to Allcast to continuing watching via the Chromecast without any issues.. Could be a possible bug. Hope it gets fixed.

  • Now having casting issues with the Avia app to my Chromecast. It plays for 3 seconds, then lags, then plays for 3 seconds, lags. Is there an update due soon to address this kind of issue?

  • This enabled me to use my media server on my MacBook to play movies and music on my Chromecast through my television. Like I used to do on my PS3. The only problem I've had is that the app has trouble playing the next movie. I have to disconnect from the Chromecast and reconnect or it just sits there with a spinning wheel. Music seemed to go to the next song in my playlist without a problem.

  • Been using this app since it launched for Chromecast. Overall its been great. However, lately I've noticed some issues. It seems to pause frequently when playing. Used another player last night when avia was giving me issues and had no problem.

  • Looks like re-installing the app fixed the thumbnails issue but I did notice that now the Media Database takes a long time to build even with just 5 videos and a handful of images on my phone.

  • Honestly what did I pay for? I paid and NOTHING HAPPENED . at all. Won't play content from ShowBox . won't stream mp4 . what the flying fuk are you charging $$ your app looks like complete and utter shiit. Figure it out scammy fcks

  • Standard media player with nothing special. Music queue can not be edited nor viewed. If you accidentally directly select song, the existing queue is deleted. Only use is with chromcast, but poor media player.

  • Does not work at all. Ok on device but will not play anything on my tv. I have tried audio files, photographs and videos all in various formats but all come up with the not compatible file. Rubbish app and even worse that you have to pay for it. Do not download this junk.

  • I've not been able to cast movies from my phone to tv. Without fail every single movie I choose says the media cannot be played. Oddly, it used to work sometimes now it doesn't work at all. Please don't waste my time with stupid questions. Yes I've rebooted and restarted both Avia and Chrome cast. No dice!! Paid and now for what??? I might as well flushed the money.

  • This app hijacked my tv through chromecast and wouldn't release it until I uninstalled it. The video sorting options are terrible and it automatically played the next video and would not stop. I purchased this to cast droidtv to my tv with chromecast.

In-app purchase of $4.99 gives you Chromecast support, casting to Apple TV, Roku, WebOS and UPnP/DLNA enabled devices, access to Dropbox, support for themes and an ad-free interface.

It's been almost a year since Avia's Chromecast release. Chromecast has been a success for Avia, to say the least. To add to the sweetness, we're now supporting casting to Apple TV, Roku and WebOS devices along with an updated UI, icons and themes. Avia 7.2 also offers overall stability improvements. Here are the features of 7.2:

Features:
• Updated user interface with simpler navigation and smoother response
• New icons throughout the app
• Casting to Apple TV
• Casting to Roku devices (need to install Avia for Roku)
• Casting to WebOS enabled TVs
• Improved stability and support for the latest Google Chromecast software
• Full playback control from your phone or tablet
• Music album artwork and artist images displayed on your TV

And of course, Avia still allows you to: Share your photos, videos and music on these devices: Chromecast / Roku / Apple TV / WebOS TV's / Xbox One / Google TV / PC / Mac

Play and manage media stored on your Android device, in the cloud or from these devices: Facebook / Dropbox / Google+ Photos (Picasa) / Network Attached Storage (NAS) / Windows Media Player (WMP) / XBMC / Serviio / Plex / Subsonic / PC / Mac / Other Android Devices

Finally, here are a few pieces of advice to get the most out of Avia:
• To cast to Roku devices, please install the Avia for Roku channel that will appear on your Roku screen.
• Make sure your Android device and device you want to cast to, e.g. Chromecast, are using the same Wi-Fi network.
• When using Avia to access media from other devices, they must have UPnP/DLNA serving enabled.
• When casting from Avia, files MUST be compatible with the receiving device. Many devices have fewer compatible codecs than a home computer.
• Please review your media formats with the specifications of your devices before attempting to cast. (Example: Chromecast is not compatible with .AVI files.) Please see the video conversion guide at http://aviatheapp.com/support.

If you have questions, comments or feedback, please check out our support page at http://aviatheapp.com/support/

If the Chromecast icon is still missing, troubleshoot suggestions are below :
• Reboot WiFi router (optional: change WiFi channel), reset factory settings on Chromecast, rename Chromecast and re-install Avia.
